The gold price (XAU/USD) fell below the integer support level of $3,300 on Wednesday. Precious metals are facing selling pressure as U.S. President Donald Trump is about to announce new reciprocity tariffs in more than seven countries that failed to sign a trade deal within a 90-day moratorium.
"We will release at least 7 trade-related countries tomorrow morning and others will be released in the afternoon. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" Trump wrote.
Over the weekend, Trump announced new tariff rates on 14 countries, with Japan and South Korea particularly notable as the main trading partners of the United States.
Although the impact of the new tariff list is expected to be limited, it is unlikely to include any significant trading partners. U.S. President Trump said trade negotiations with China, the euro zone and India are going well.
In theory, rising global economic tensions will increase demand for safe-haven assets, such as gold.
At the same time, the firm US dollar (USD) also limits the rise in gold prices. The dollar index (DXY), which tracks the value of the dollar against six major currencies, traded firmly near its weekly high of nearly 97.80 on Tuesday.
In addition, U.S. President Trump proposed to impose a 50% tariff on copper and a 200% tariff on drugs.

Gold Technical Analysis
Gold Price is on the Daily ChartBreak below the uptrend line of the rising triangle pattern, which began to be drawn from the April 7 low of $2,957. The horizontal resistance of the above graphical mode is plotted from the April 22 high of $3,500. In theory, asset breaks below the uptrend line will lead to a sharp decline.
Precious metals trading prices are below the 20-day index moving average (EMA) of about $3,334, indicating that the short-term trend has turned bearish.
The 14th-day relative strength index (RSI) fluctuates within the range of 40.00-60.00, indicating a sideways trend.
If gold prices fall below the May 29 low of $3245, it is expected to fall to the integer support level of $3300 and the May 15 low of $3121.
On the other hand, if the gold price decisively breaks through the psychological barrier of $3,500, it will enter an unknown area. The potential resistance levels will be $3550 and $3600.
