On Monday (September 8), affected by weak U.S. labor market data, the euro/dollar exchange rate maintained a bullish outlook, with the intraday price reaching 1.1721/22, an increase of 0.02%.

Basic Analysis

The Euro/USD exchange rate fell slightly after testing the key resistance level of 1.1725, which is the fourth time that the bulls have tried to stand firm above the mark.

After the release of US labor market data, the US dollar continued to be under pressure. The number of non-farm employment in the United States increased by only 22,000 in August, far lower than the upward revised July value (79,000) and the market expectation of 75,000; the unemployment rate rose from 4.2% a month ago to 4.3%, the highest level since October 2021.

This weak data further reinforces the dovish stance of members of the Federal Open Market www.xmhouses.committee (FOMC). Earlier, members of the www.xmhouses.committee have stated that it is necessary to adjust monetary policy in the context of slowing economic growth and worsening labor market conditions.

At present, market participants have adjusted their expectations: no longer believe that interest rates will remain unchanged until the second half of 2026, but are predicted that two rate cuts will be received this year, which will be implemented in September and December respectively.

Technical Analysis

The Euro/USD exchange rate is currently trading near the lower track of the rising channel, and is suppressed by a resistance level of around 1.1725. The bulls tried to stand firm above the threshold for the fourth time, which means that the exchange rate may experience a short-term pullback before the new round of upward momentum begins.

Today's Euro/USD forecast shows that the exchange rate will continue to rise, but there is another test of 1.172The possibility of 5 resistance levels is expected to further move towards the upper bullish channel (1.1790) after breaking through. After the random oscillator KDJ leaves the overbought range, it shows a local downward trend, which confirms the possibility of a short-term retracement before the exchange rate restarts.

Another factor supporting the bullish scenario is that the current price remains above the moving average, which further consolidates the prospect of the EUR/USD exchange rate gradually strengthening.

The U.S. labor market data is weak and the market expects the Federal Reserve to implement two interest rate cuts by the end of the year. These factors have jointly exacerbated the downward pressure on the US dollar and provided support for the further strengthening of the euro/dollar exchange rate.

From a technical point of view, the EUR/USD exchange rate will maintain upward momentum. After experiencing a short-term pullback, it may test the 1.1725 resistance level again and advance towards 1.1790.
